Fired up February - Day 9

As I found out from yesterday's project, my finger tips have become prissy little bitches when it comes to wire wrapping. To toughen them up I whipped out this bracelet and pair earrings.  
  
The Amethyst vintage style triangle Czech fire polish beads look great with the jet black bicones and silver wire.  Tempted as I was to keep them for myself, I ended up listing them.

Fired up February - Day 2

Picking two cherries with one hand.....


My box of unfinished projects has been giving me the mean eye for quite a while now.  I even think I heard some of the pieces whispering about me.  The loudest were the cherries.


Last summer I decided to make beaded cherries.After a few frustrating attempts to make perfect little beaded spheres on my own, I broke down and purchased a great tutorial  from The Crimson Moon.

Here I must pause to give an appreciatory nod to The Crimson Moon.  As some of you may already know, I prefer to figure things out myself.  Persons close to me have alluded to it being stubbornness - though I prefer to think of myself as dedicated.  The moment I realize  that am in need of a tutorial is the moment I admit defeat.  The tutorial I received from the Crimson Moon was so clear and concise I almost enjoyed not knowing something.

I promptly began working on the first set.......and then stopped.  

Have you ever felt mocked by an inanimate object?   Today was the day these cherries would mock me no more!  Below is my finished design.  The two 10 mm cherries are so sweet, I decided to hang them from a very delicate vintage gold chain necklace.

So, unless you're familiar with Etsy, I've seen  your eyes glaze over when I mention my teams.  I was going to take this opportunity to give a brief explanation what the teams are, what they do, etc... but I just changed my mind.  Or maybe it's because I don't know how to describe in words the awesomeness of the teams that I'm on.

A Slow Start for a Busy Weekend

Well, woke up this morning to no power...turns out the whole town was out & about 1/2 of the next town. But it came back on in about 3 hours - so it just threw me a little behind. I'm still making last minute things for Zombie 4 Ransom tonight.

I'll be sharing a vending spot with Platipuses, who makes killer plus size clothing. I'm excited!


The event is a late one - from 7pm till 1am - so I will be staggering home to catch some ZZZZZs, then arising early to take the ferry to Seattle to vend at Mourning Market.

There's going to be SO many fantastic vendors there, as well as music and performers. You can learn more about many of them (including myself) on the Mourning Market blog. I am especially looking forward to meeting some of my Esty Dark Side team members...and having some cocktails, of course. Added bonus? Gothic Charm School will be there & filming!

My First Front Page of Etsy

I know, I know....tis just a wee little thing - but I got excited. The Etsy Dark Side team made the front page and my Black Rain Necklace was included. I am thrilled.

Day Five - Le Secretaire

The day started off right, then quickly digressed as I became ill at work. When I got home I went to bed & stayed there until around 9 pm. Feeling a bit better, I arose and decided to make this set

Did someone say corporate Goth?

I used my favorite color of Pearls, which is Dark Peacock, because I love the subdued mix of blue, purple, maroon and green. Between the sets of 6mm Pearls I threw in a 4mm Montana Fire-polished Czech glass bead for a little sparkle. All the beads are seperated with sterling silver Bali spacer beads. This necklace is strung on 49 strand beading wire and I finished it off with a sterling silver Fishhook clasp.

I then decided to whip up a matching pair of earrings to complete the look. This set is for sell in my Etsy shop.

Pretty in Pink Beadwoven Bracelet

Okay, since I have been out of black beading line & was out of black beads for a bit, I have been feeling stuck. I have a long list of projects that I'd like to do and they all involve black - gah! Since I have SO many beads, I thought I better do something in the interim to start using these up...

So, I decided to make a pink and black beaded cuff bracelet. First I wove a pale pink peyote stitch base. Then I started playing around with the black beads on top


Nope, I wasn't liking the big wide "X" pattern, perhaps I should try it a bit smaller


That looks a little better, lets carry it across


On the way back, to complete the "X" effect, I decided that I rather liked a more circular pattern


Much better. To finished it off, I used two lovely faceted Black fire-polished Czech glass beads and beaded loops & here you go

And since I got my black line & my black beads in yesterday, you'll most likely being seeing a lot of black items in the near future.

So I've slowly started stocking my vintage shop

I have tons of vintage clothing that I will be listing in my new Etsy shop, Room 3 Vintage in the coming weeks. I have been so overwhelmed with moving and the holidays that I just haven't had the time. I figured I should go ahead and open it - hopefully that will give me the incentive to list more items.

Glen Downy-Uffington is a product of the underground Uffingtons and is inherently calm, cool, collected and pretty certain to have your watch in his pocket. Good luck busting the little twerp, if caught with said watch, he just says "ta-da" and pretends to be at the grand finale part of a magic trick. We have given up grounding him and are currently trying positive reinforcement training. So far no success but I do look positively stunning in the diamond earrings and matching tennis bracelet he gave me last time he got a ten second time-out. If you can't beat em........Glen is partial to Vienna sausages dipped in pepper jam and likes to clean things with other peoples toothbrushes. Glen will thrive in a non- judgemental environment with people who appreciate fine jewelry and don't ask a lot of silly questions.

Glen is 26" tall and likes his ear bells kept very shiny!
